South Brevard is its own daily orbit
Melbourne, West Melbourne, Palm Bay, and the beachside towns form a distinct part of Brevard County, with employers, clinics, and courts clustered along US-1, US-192, and I-95. For a woman in early recovery, the practical question is not which city a home lists on its website, but whether she can reach her job, her appointments, and her support network from the actual address.
Ask any residence for its confirmed location before comparing anything else. A “Melbourne area” description can cover a very wide range, and a municipality guide page is not a branch address. Brevard Grace House will confirm its location directly through admissions rather than publishing a street address in advance.
Test the commute you will actually make
Map the trip from the confirmed address to your workplace at the time your shift starts, not at midday. If you rely on Space Coast Area Transit, check the current schedule for both directions, including weekends and evenings, and identify a backup plan for a missed bus.
Many south Brevard jobs—hospitality, healthcare, retail, and the space and defense corridor—run shifts outside standard hours. A home that fits a 9-to-5 schedule may not fit a 6 AM start or a closing shift, so discuss your real hours with admissions before committing.
- Confirm the exact address before comparing homes
- Check the commute at your actual shift times
- Verify bus schedules for both directions
- Plan a backup for missed connections
- Ask how shift changes are handled under house rules
Keep your care and appointments in reach
Recovery often involves outside appointments: therapy, prescriber visits, probation or court obligations, and mutual-support meetings. Before choosing a home, list your recurring commitments and confirm each one is reachable from the address within the house schedule.
Brevard Grace House is a recovery residence, not a treatment provider, so clinical care stays with your licensed providers. The home welcomes women taking prescribed medication-assisted treatment with self-administration under house protocols—discuss your specific arrangements with admissions before move-in.
Compare the real weekly cost
Brevard Grace House charges $195 per week, all-inclusive, plus a one-time $100 move-in fee. The rate covers utilities, Wi-Fi, laundry, a fully equipped kitchen and coffee bar, stocked household supplies, and weekly group coaching, and every new resident receives a welcome care package with body wash, a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, and snacks.
When comparing homes, ask each one for the total due before arrival, the payment schedule, and the written refund terms. A lower headline rate with separate charges for utilities or supplies can cost more in practice.
Start the conversation before you need the bed
Brevard Grace House opens January 15, 2027 and is accepting inquiries now for future admission; it is not currently open, and an inquiry does not reserve a placement. The home is going through FARR Level 2 certification review.
If you live or work in the Melbourne area and are planning ahead, call or text admissions at (407) 758-0958 and mention Brevard Grace House. Ask about the women’s program, the confirmed location once available, and how your work and appointment schedule would fit the weekly rhythm. Keep medical records out of text messages.
