Connection is part of the work
Recovery housing provides structure at home, but lasting recovery usually also involves connection outside it: mutual-support meetings, sponsors or mentors, faith communities, and recovery community organizations. Brevard County has an active recovery community, and women do not have to build that network alone.
Different fellowships and formats suit different people—12-step meetings, women’s meetings, SMART Recovery, faith-based groups, and peer-led recovery community events. Trying more than one format in the first weeks is normal, not a failure.
Find meetings from official directories
Meeting times and locations change, so use the fellowships’ own current directories rather than old lists or word of mouth. AA, NA, and SMART Recovery each maintain online meeting finders with in-person and online options across Brevard’s mainland and beachside communities.
Women-only meetings exist in most fellowships and can feel safer for women whose history includes trauma or who simply prefer a women’s room. Filter directories by format, or ask another woman in recovery which meetings she trusts.
- Check the fellowship’s official current directory
- Try more than one meeting format
- Look for women-only meetings if you prefer them
- Confirm the time and location before traveling
- Plan the trip there and back before the meeting day
Recovery community organizations add more than meetings
Beyond fellowships, recovery community organizations in Central Florida host peer support, social events, and volunteer opportunities—ways to build a sober social life, not just attend meetings. Our resources page lists local organizations Brevard Grace House works alongside, including recovery community and behavioral health providers.
Volunteering with the recovery community can also count toward structured weekly activity. At Brevard Grace House, residents complete at least 32 hours per week of work, education, volunteering, or approved productive activity—ask admissions how recovery-community involvement fits.
Meetings complement housing; they do not replace it
A meeting is an hour; a home is the other twenty-three. Mutual support works best alongside a stable, substance-free living environment with accountability—which is what a recovery residence provides. Neither one substitutes for licensed clinical care when that is needed.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or 911 for an emergency. A meeting directory is not an emergency service, and a housing website is not a medical provider.
Build your Brevard support map before move-in
Brevard Grace House opens January 15, 2027 and is accepting inquiries now for future admission at $195 per week, all-inclusive, plus a one-time $100 move-in fee. Weekly group coaching and house meetings are built into the program, and residents connect with outside meetings and community as part of the weekly rhythm.
Call or text admissions at (407) 758-0958 to discuss the women’s program and how your existing recovery supports—meetings, sponsors, providers—would fit life at Grace House. Planning your support map before move-in makes the first month noticeably easier.
