Start with the life you need your housing to support
If you live in Palm Bay or work in West Melbourne, looking for women’s sober living can mean balancing recovery with the connections you already have. Your job, a trusted prescriber, family responsibilities, and outside appointments may all matter to the decision. You do not have to treat housing as separate from those commitments: write them down before you start calling homes.
Brevard Grace House is a women-only recovery residence opening January 15, 2027. It is not currently open and is accepting inquiries for future admission. This guide is for women in the Palm Bay area considering their next step; it is not a claim that Grace House has a Palm Bay or West Melbourne property. Ask admissions for the confirmed residence location before making a travel plan.
Understand the difference between a review and a certificate
Brevard Grace House is going through the FARR Level 2 certification review process and will be a FARR Level 2 certified recovery residence once certified. It does not hold that certification today. The Florida Association of Recovery Residences provides certification information you can use when checking a home’s status.
If your treatment team or funding source requires certified housing, ask them exactly what must be verified before placement. A pending review is not a valid certificate, and a leader’s personal CRRA credential does not establish that a particular residence is certified. Confirm the actual home’s current status with admissions and FARR before paying or arranging a discharge.
Certification also does not mean the home provides detox, psychotherapy, or medical treatment. Grace House provides recovery housing, coaching, and peer support alongside—not instead of—care from licensed professionals.
Keep your Palm Bay care and support connected
Make a short list of the people and places you need to stay connected with: your outside providers, recovery supports, workplace, and any family commitments. Once admissions confirms the address, check each recurring trip on the day and at the time you actually need to travel. If you use buses, consult current Space Coast Area Transit information rather than assuming nearby cities share the same service.
The Grace House model welcomes women taking prescribed Medication-Assisted Treatment, including Suboxone, Vivitrol, or methadone, with self-administration under house protocols. Review your particular medication arrangements with admissions and your licensed prescriber. Do not change a prescription to fit an assumed housing rule.
Children cannot currently live with residents at Grace House. If you are a mother, distinguish between planning contact or childcare and needing housing where your children can reside with you. If living together is essential, explain that requirement to your care team while exploring other appropriate options.
- Confirm the residence address before testing travel
- Check both directions of work and appointment trips
- Review your prescribed medication arrangements
- Clarify childcare and family-contact needs
- Ask for a secure process for any required documents
Match the weekly structure to your budget and schedule
Grace House expects at least 32 hours per week of employment, education, volunteering, or approved productive activity. Weekly house meetings, household responsibilities, screening, and recovery activities also form part of the program. Bring your actual work or class schedule to admissions and ask how it fits; do not assume a particular shift, exception, or curfew.
The rate is $195 per week, all-inclusive, plus a one-time $100 move-in fee. Utilities, Wi-Fi, on-site laundry, a fully equipped kitchen and coffee bar, stocked household supplies, and weekly group coaching are included. Toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, and dishwashing soap are provided.
Every new resident receives body wash, a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, and snacks in a welcome care package. Plan separately for your own groceries, travel, and outside care. Ask for the payment schedule and written departure and refund terms before committing funds.
Make a future-admission inquiry without sharing private records by text
Call or text (407) 758-0958 and specify Brevard Grace House. A useful first message is: “I’m in Palm Bay and planning women’s recovery housing for after January 15. Can we discuss the program and current certification review?” An inquiry does not reserve a placement or guarantee admission.
Review the program and admissions pages, then ask for approval, the confirmed location, and a move-in date before making arrangements. If your housing need is before January 15, 2027, arrange another confirmed option with your care team. Do not send medical records or detailed recovery information in an introductory text.
