Verify the home before you travel

Relocating for recovery housing adds risk: you cannot easily visit first, and a disappointing arrival is harder to fix from another state. Before booking travel, obtain written confirmation of your approval, the move-in date, the actual address, the total amount due, and the house agreement.

Check whether the residence is certified and by whom. FARR certifies recovery residences in Florida and publishes certification information. Brevard Grace House is going through the FARR Level 2 certification review process and is not yet certified; confirm its current status with admissions or at farronline.org before relying on it for a referral requirement.

Match the move to the home’s actual opening

Brevard Grace House opens January 15, 2027 and is not currently open. If you need housing before that date, you need a different confirmed arrangement—do not travel to Florida on the assumption that a future opening will cover an immediate need.

For a move after the opening, get your move-in date and arrival instructions in writing before arranging transportation. An inquiry or a friendly phone call is not a reserved placement.

  • Written approval and move-in date
  • Confirmed address and arrival instructions
  • Total amount due and payment method
  • Written house agreement reviewed
  • A backup plan if the placement falls through

Budget the move, not just the rent

Relocation adds one-time costs: travel, shipping or replacing belongings, and the gap before your first paycheck. The Grace House rate is $195 per week, all-inclusive, plus a one-time $100 move-in fee, which keeps the housing side predictable while you plan the rest.

Ask admissions exactly what is due before arrival and what the first weeks look like financially. If family is helping with moving costs, agree on amounts and limits in advance.

Keep your care and paperwork connected

If you take prescribed medication or see providers regularly, plan the transfer of care before you move: refills, new appointments, and how records will reach your new providers. Medication decisions belong with your licensed prescriber.

Grace House welcomes women taking prescribed medication-assisted treatment, including Suboxone, Vivitrol, or methadone, with self-administration under house protocols. Discuss your specific arrangements with admissions before move-in, and ask how documents can be shared securely rather than texting medical records.

Learn Brevard County before you land

Brevard is a long county of mainland and beachside communities connected by causeways. Work, transit, and appointments can be an hour apart even when they look close on a map. Once you have the confirmed address, test your real trips—work, recovery activities, and providers—using current Space Coast Area Transit schedules if you will not have a car.

Grace House expects at least 32 hours per week of work, education, volunteering, or approved activity, so an employment or enrollment plan is part of a successful move, not an afterthought. Call or text admissions at (407) 758-0958 to start the conversation about relocating to the women’s program.
