Plan the transition before the discharge date
If you are considering women’s sober living after rehab, begin with your treatment team’s assessment of what support you need next. A recovery residence can provide a structured place to live, but it cannot substitute for detox, medical supervision, or clinical treatment.
Separate three decisions: whether recovery housing is appropriate for you, whether a particular home can accommodate your practical needs, and whether an approved placement is available on your discharge date. An encouraging phone conversation alone does not answer all three.
Match the opening date to your actual housing need
Brevard Grace House opens January 15, 2027. It is not currently open, so a woman leaving treatment before that date needs a different confirmed housing arrangement for the intervening period. Do not leave treatment early or assume a future opening will cover an immediate housing need.
Even for a discharge after opening, obtain admissions approval, the confirmed location, arrival instructions, and a move-in date before traveling. The house is going through FARR Level 2 certification review; do not describe it as currently certified when discussing a referral. Ask your referring team whether any certification requirements affect the placement.
Keep prescribed care connected
Ask your licensed care team about follow-up appointments, prescriptions, refills, and how to get help if your needs change. Medication decisions belong with your prescriber, not a housing website or a roommate. Keep a practical plan for reaching your outside providers.
Grace House welcomes women taking prescribed medication-assisted treatment, including Suboxone, Vivitrol, or methadone, with self-administration under house protocols. Discuss your specific arrangements with admissions before move-in. Do not assume that the residence prescribes, dispenses, or supplies transportation to treatment.
- Confirm your outside care and appointment plan
- Review medication procedures with admissions
- Ask how required documents can be shared securely
- Plan transportation and a backup option
- Keep appropriate emergency and provider contacts
Align your weekly commitments and funding
Grace House’s structure includes weekly house meetings, shared responsibilities, screening, coaching, and at least 32 hours per week of work, education, volunteering, or approved productive activity. Discuss how your outside appointments and transition schedule fit these expectations before agreeing to move in.
The cost is $195 per week, all-inclusive, plus a one-time $100 move-in fee. Clarify who will pay, when payment is due, and what happens if the discharge date changes. Children cannot currently live with residents at Grace House; women needing a home where their children can also reside should make that requirement clear to their care team.
Give your referral team a concrete next step
Case managers and treatment teams can review the Grace House program overview on the professionals page, then call intake to discuss future admission. Share only what is needed through the appropriate process and with appropriate consent; an introductory text should not contain medical records.
Call or text (407) 758-0958 and name Brevard Grace House. For immediate medical emergencies, call 911 rather than waiting for housing intake. If you need mental health crisis support, call or text 988.
