Detox is a medical step—housing comes after it
Detoxification addresses withdrawal under medical supervision. It is provided by licensed medical providers, and it is not the same service as recovery housing. A sober living home offers a substance-free place to live with structure and peer accountability; it cannot provide detox, manage withdrawal, or replace medical assessment.
If you or a loved one needs withdrawal care now, contact a licensed medical provider or use SAMHSA’s FindTreatment.gov to locate treatment services. For an immediate medical emergency, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988. Do not wait for a housing admissions line to address a medical need.
Match the housing date to your discharge date
The most common planning mistake is leaving a detox or treatment stay without a confirmed place to land. Before discharge, separate what is confirmed from what is hoped for: an encouraging conversation is not an approved placement, and a future opening date does not cover housing you need tonight. Ask your discharge team to help coordinate a confirmed option for your actual departure date.
Brevard Grace House opens January 15, 2027 and is not currently open. Inquiries now are for future admission. If your discharge is before that date, arrange other confirmed housing with your care team rather than leaving treatment on an assumption. Even for a later date, obtain admissions approval, the confirmed address, arrival instructions, and a move-in date before traveling.
Keep prescribed care moving after detox
Detox is often the first step in a longer care plan that includes follow-up appointments, prescribed medication, outpatient care, or peer support. Before you leave, get your follow-up plan in writing: who you will see, when, where, and what to do if your needs change. Medication decisions belong with your licensed prescriber—not a housing website, a roommate, or house staff.
The Grace House model welcomes women taking prescribed Medication-Assisted Treatment, including Suboxone, Vivitrol, or methadone, with residents self-administering under house protocols. Review your specific arrangements with admissions before move-in, and keep medications in original labeled containers. Ask how any required documents can be shared securely rather than sending records by text.

What structured housing adds in the weeks after detox
The weeks after detox are when daily structure matters most. Grace House’s model includes live-in house management, weekly house meetings, shared household responsibilities, screening, and weekly group coaching. Residents are expected to complete at least 32 hours per week of employment, education, volunteering, or approved productive activity.
The rate is $195 per week, all-inclusive, plus a one-time $100 move-in fee. Utilities, Wi-Fi, on-site laundry, a fully equipped kitchen and coffee bar, stocked household supplies, and a welcome care package with body wash, a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, and snacks are included. Coaching and peer support complement licensed care; they do not replace it.
Children cannot currently live with residents at Grace House. Mothers planning a move should clarify contact and childcare arrangements separately and tell their care team if they need housing where children can reside.
Talk to admissions with the right questions
When you contact a home, ask about three things in order: whether the program fits your needs and timeline, what the written rules and costs are, and what the next step is. Brevard Grace House is going through the FARR Level 2 certification review process and will be a FARR Level 2 certified recovery residence once certified; ask about current status directly rather than assuming any listing is up to date.
Call or text (407) 758-0958 and specify Brevard Grace House. A useful opening question is: “I’m planning a move after detox—can we discuss the women’s program, the weekly rate, and future admission?” An inquiry is not a reserved bed. Do not send medical records or detailed health information by text.
